You ever been on a dating app?

You scroll through hundreds of profiles.
You swipe right on someone (and discover that they swiped right on you first!).
You're now connected, so say “hey there” in the hopes of getting to know this person better.
And then…crickets.Â
Like - what was the point of all of that searching and filtering and finally making an initial connection - only for it to never go anywhere?
It’s no wonder people are exhausted and frustrated by dating apps.
But this behavior isn’t exclusively happening on the dating apps.

Small business owners ghost new clients too.
Think about it:
- This new client found YOU. Out of ALL the social media accounts in the world, they just happened to stumble upon YOURS. They swiped right.
- This new client clicked on something. Out of ALL the links they could have clicked on (or avoided!), your bio/website/social media message was intriguing enough for them to take that next step forward.
- This new client signed up for your mailing list. Woot woot! Out of ALL the people they could have given their email address to…they chose YOU. That's like giving your number out to a guy. It's a huge indicator that you want to be contacted!Â
Why would you not make the most out of all that cosmic good fortune?

If you don’t have a newsletter (or even worse - you do, but don’t use it! 🫣), you’re missing out on some serious relationship-building opportunities that can help that client start to think of you as “the one.”
And if you happen to kick off that new client relationship by being present, listening to their needs, and showing up regularly in their life - how could you not ultimately win big?
